where would i find a delete kit for a balance shaft for an 89 D50 2.6L 2wd? would it be worth it or a waste of time?

They are easy to find on ebay or from Dad at engine machine services. They let the engine spin up faster due to less rotating mass, but you lose the smoothness unless you balance the rotating assembly. Another trick is to lighten the flywheel if it is a stick.

You can lighten the flywheel alright, mine is very heavy but if you have air cond it might not idle like you would want.
The compressor draws a good amount of power, and at a stoplight or slowly in a parking lot it might die on you.

a/c doesnt exist in my truck anymore..the last owner ripped it all out because the compressor went bad..so he says..it could have been something more simple but oh well..the compressor is gone and so are the mounts and all the hoses for a/c

I did the delete kit while the engine was out, so IN the truck I think would be a pain to install..
Well, let me take that back. If you had a short bearing installer and tapped it in that way it would probably work. Just make sure the chamfer goes in the block first.
AND, Dont' mix up the sprockets. They have to go back a certain way. Dished for pump and cupped for idler (I think)
